Wow! What a day!
Sammy and I started off 50 minutes behind schedule (not bad for me) and decided to travel as the crow flies straight through the middle of London over to the ExCel exhibition centre for the Professional Beauty Show yesterday. With a little bit of shouting at the SatNav and illegal left hand turns, we arrived just after the show started and armed with lists and a wheely suitcase (and a pair of emergency flat shoes), entered the zone!
Every beauty brand you can think of were exhibiting. From the guys at CND (the Shellac geniuses) and HD brows to world renowned wax experts Perron Rigot (who had the amazing Kim Lawless aka the Wax Queen on their stand).
There were the usual smattering of TOWIE celebs to be seen such as Amy Childs and Frankie Essex, plus a few that were drawing the crowds of the younger beauty students who, with their iphones waving above their heads taking photos, were clogging up the path (I had no clue who the celebs were - how uncool of me!)
So back to the list. Half a dozen new CNDVinylux polishes, a couple of kilos of award winning Perron Rigot wax (for all my lovely clients who like to visit Brazil and Hollywood once a month), eyelash glue, a new nail treatment that repairs knackered nails plus the usual waxing accessories like spatulas and strips etc.
Well, like shopping when you're hungry, the list went right out of the window! Within 45 minutes, I'd had to unzip the expander part of my suitcase and woe betide anyone who's toes were in it's path!
Of course I got to visit my old favourites, the Dermalogica team had the punters queuing round the block for facemapping, and the Eyelash Emporium looked like they were running low on stock (not purely down to my purchases). We did well to get in and out of the Sweet Squared stand within 45 minutes to pick up some new polishes.
I picked up some really cool training brochures, for treatments that I'm thinking of adding to my menu. Eye BROW extensions look to be the next big thing for people who have over plucked or lost their hair and give an amazing result in defining the eye area. Also, I'm really interested in training in Pregnancy massage and treatments as there don't seem to be many people doing it in Plymouth at the moment.

So all in all, a great but exhausting day. Well worth a visit.
Off we trotted back through London, across the M4 (a quick whip round Ikea at Bristol.....well a quick 2 hour whip round) and with service station burgers in hand, slipped quietly down the M5 and back into Plymouth at 10.30pm.
Pooped.
Back into work this afternoon with my loot and the fun begins!
Happy Tuesday!
