Male Waxing FAQs
What should I expect at my waxing appointment?
The treatment will be explained in full and a quick run down of the positions you will need to get into throughout the treatment.
If you are booked in for intimate waxing, you will need to remove your underwear and will be asked to get into various positions whilst holding the skin taut when asked. You will need to hold on to your tackle, moving it in various directions so that the skin can be held taut whilst wax is applied and removed. I do this type of waxing for both male and female clients all day every day, so no need to be shy!
Do I have to get naked?
Depending on what body part you are having waxed, you will only need to expose that area. If you’re having a number of areas waxed, you will be given a towel to cover the other areas up.
I work quickly and efficiently to get the treatment done as quickly and safely as possible.
What if something ‘pops up’?
This can happen on occasion when your tackle is being subjected to hot wax and being moved about into various positions (by your own fair hands). Don’t worry about it, it’ll soon rectify itself once we start removing the wax and I’ve seen it all before!
Do you offer ‘extras’?
Errrmmmm….NO!!! I work in a professional salon offering beauty, waxing and skin treatments and definitely not any hanky panky! Please don’t embarrass yourself by asking as I’ll be forced to open the treatment room door and tell everyone in the salon what you’ve just asked!
Can I bring a friend or partner?
Yes if you want to. Be aware that you’ll need to be good friends as all your bits and bobs will be on show!
How often should I get waxed?
I recommend re-booking every 4-5 weeks to start with, after which we can decide between us how often you need to come back.
How long does my hair need to be?
As a rule of thumb, I say that you should have at least 4 weeks growth from waxing and 3 weeks growth from shaving. You can always have a quick trim before you come in if you feel it's too long, however if in doubt, it's better for it to be too long than too short. I can use clippers on the day.
